Unprecedented times is a phrase we have heard a lot in 2020. What a year it has been. We have overcome so many challenges this year along with so many of you. One big change was the availability of product and materials to make our chandeliers. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer were not the only products sold out on so many shelves and websites. Mason jars were no where to be found! We searched and searched for months to find anyone who had stock of any type of jar. It was amazing to see that truly no website or brick and mortar had any in stock! We had some reserves but the orders kept coming and we were super close to running out and not being able to fulfill orders! Joanne Fabrics saved the day! We found multiple cases at a reasonable price (most were price gouging). Thank goodness and it seems most sites are getting stock back slowly.
We also use antique railroad electrical insulators for one of our smaller chandeliers. Finding these have proven to be a challenge as well. There are not many available locally in upstate New York therefore we broadened our search to include neighboring states who could ship without it costing a fortune since they are very heavy items. We have learned our lesson the hard way as we received a shipment with over half the insulators broken. Such a sad moment. Not only that we can’t use them to create our chandeliers, but also the history lost with them that no longer gets to live on in someone’s home or venue. Now we will be actively searching for insulators everywhere we turn.
We have had quite a year. So many trials and tribulations yet our orders have soared through it all and we have you all to thank for that! We wouldn’t be able to do all of this without you. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you!
